Symantec LiveState Delivery creates temporary groups of computers in several situations. For example, the results of a search for computers by string are placed in a temporary group and displayed in a new window.
You can also manually create temporary computer groups, for example to group computers together without executing any actions on them.
You can also choose to make the Temporary group into a permanent computer group.
The temporary group is visible in Command Center, under Computers. Temporary groups remain in existence until you disconnect from the Configuration Server or close the Command Center.
To manually create a temporary group
In the Result pane, hold Ctrl and select the computers you want to include.
Drag the selected computers to the Temporary Group Creator in the Scope pane.
To make a temporary group into a permanent group
Select the temporary group name and choose Action > Make Permanent.
At the prompt, specify a group name and description.
