You may be able to change the archiving settings for a mailbox, mailbox folder, or public folder. Among the settings that you can change, if you have the required permissions, are the following:
Whether Enterprise Vault archives the items in this mailbox or folder.
The default retention category to assign to the items in your mailbox or the specified mailbox folder.
The criteria that Enterprise Vault uses to select items to archive.
Whether Enterprise Vault automatically creates shortcuts to the items that it archives.
To set the Enterprise Vault properties of a mailbox or folder
In the Outlook Navigation Pane, right-click the mailbox or folder and then click Properties.
In the properties dialog box, click the Enterprise Vault tab to display the current settings.
Choose the required options. The available options vary according to the selected mailbox or folder. Your administrator may have locked the settings to prevent you from changing them.
For a description of each option, click Help in the Change Enterprise Vault Properties dialog box.
