Archiving strategy

This setting is only applicable to Outlook Add-In versions prior to Enterprise Vault 8.0.

Description

Tells Vault Cache whether your site uses archiving based on age, or archiving based on quota. This setting is an override. By default, Vault Cache automatically knows the strategy that the archiving agent is using.

Supported values

  • Age-based (default). This is the value to use if you have archiving based on age. This is the equivalent of Archive items when they are older than age on the Archiving Rules tab of the Exchange Policy Properties.

  • Quota-based. This is the value to use if you have archiving based on quota, or based on age and quota. This is the equivalent of the setting Archive items until mailbox available storage reaches percentage on the Archiving Rules tab of the Exchange Policy Properties.
