New Domino Provisioning Group

A provisioning group enables you to apply a desktop policy and a mailbox policy a group of Domino users.

The desktop policy contains settings relating to the users' experience when using the Enterprise Vault Domino clients. For example, the desktop policy enables you to control the following:

The visibility of menu options on the Lotus Notes client.
Vault Cache for Lotus Notes configuration settings.

The mailbox policy contains settings that determine what is archived and the manner in which it is archived. For exmple, the milbox policy enables you to control the following:

The document and message form types that are archived.
The age and size of items that are archived.
Whether to create shortcuts to archived items.

Additionally, the provisioning group specifies the default Retention Category to use for items archived from the mailboxes in the provisioning group. You can have a single provisioning group, comprising the whole Domino organization, or many provisioning groups.

Within a provisioning group, you can select mailboxes using any of the following:

Directory Group
Mailbox
Organizational Unit
Corporate Hierarchy

Note:

A mailbox must be part of a provisioning group before you can enable that mailbox for archiving.
