It is important that you monitor journaled mailboxes, especially after any system failure, to make sure that there is no build up of messages that are waiting to be archived.
. The name of the computer on which the Exchange Journaling Task is running or will run.
. The name of the Microsoft Exchange Server with which this Exchange Journaling Task is associated. The Exchange Journaling Task archives items from journal mailboxes on this Microsoft Exchange Server.
. The name of this task. The name is shown in the Administration Console list of tasks. You can change this name as required.
. Select this to make the Exchange Journaling Task run in report mode. In report mode, nothing is archived, but you get a report that shows what would be archived if you ran the Exchange Journaling Task normally.
Note that, since the Exchange Journaling Task runs every minute, you can get a lot of reports in a short time.
The report goes into a file
in the Reports\Exchange Journal
subfolder of the Enterprise Vault installation folder (normally
C:\Program Files\Enterprise
Vault\Reports\Exchange Journal
).

is the
name of the Microsoft Exchange Server computer and yyyymmddhhmmss
is the
date and time that the report was generated.
If you change this setting, you must stop and restart the Exchange Journaling Task to make the change take effect.
. Startup type. Specifies how the task starts. The task must be started before it can process according to its schedule.
The possible settings are as follows:
. The task starts automatically when the Task Controller Service starts.
. The task never starts automatically. You can start it from within the Administration Console. To start the task, right-click its name in the Administration Console and then click .
. The task never starts automatically and cannot be started manually until you change this setting to Automatic or Manual.
. For your notes. Edit this text as necessary. This text is visible only to Enterprise Vault administrators.
