The options on this page are only applicable to SharePoint 3.0 targets. Enterprise Vault ignores the settings when processing SharePoint 2.0 targets.
You can configure Enterprise Vault to archive draft versions of documents from SharePoint 3.0 target sites.
In SharePoint 3.0, draft versions are minor versions of documents, or major versions of documents which have not been published. The SharePoint document library owner can choose who can view drafts of documents. This means that, in SharePoint, users who have read access to a document may not have access to drafts of that document.
When Enterprise Vault archives documents and drafts, it applies the permissions of the folder to documents and drafts archived from the folder. This means that any user who has access to a folder in SharePoint will be able to access drafts in Enterprise Vault, even if they do not have permission to view drafts in SharePoint.
To restrict access to drafts in Enterprise Vault, you can configure Enterprise Vault to archive drafts of a document only if users with at least read access to the original document in SharePoint also have read access to drafts of the document.
Archive draft versions from SharePoint. Select this if you want Enterprise Vault to store drafts of documents that are archived from the SharePoint folder.
Archive drafts only if they can be viewed by users with read access to the document.
If you select this option, drafts of a document will be archived only if users who have access to the SharePoint document also have access to drafts of that document.
If you select the option to archive drafts but do not select this option, then drafts of all documents archived from the target site are archived. Anyone with read access to the original document in SharePoint will also be able to view archived drafts of the document in Enterprise Vault.
