New vault store group

Vault store groups contain vault stores. Each vault store must belong to a single vault store group. The vault store group forms an outer boundary for sharing when you use Enterprise Vault single instance storage.

Before you create a vault store group it is important to consider how you want to set up your sharing environment. See "Setting up Storage" in Installing and Configuring.

You must configure a fingerprint database when you create a vault store group. The wizard asks you for the following:

The SQL server to use for the fingerprint database.
The locations to use for the database filegroups and log files.

The fingerprint database can grow very quickly. To improve efficiency it uses many filegroups to hold the fingerprint data. For best performance, spread the filegroup locations over a number of devices.
