New Journal Mailbox

The New Journal Mailbox wizard lets you add a journal mailbox that you want Enterprise Vault to archive. You can archive multiple journal mailboxes.

When you add the journal mailbox, you specify that it is the target of an Exchange Journaling Task. You also specify which archive is used to store items and which policy is used to select items for archiving.

Thus, before you work through this wizard you must already have created the following:

The Exchange Journaling Task that you want to use for this journal mailbox.
The Journal Archive that you want to use to store items that are archived from this journal mailbox.
The Exchange Server Journaling Policy that you want to use to control what is archived.

Note:

By default, Enterprise Vault uses the same archive and Retention Category for every item that is archived from a journal mailbox. If this is not what you want, you can customize the journal mailbox and send items to different archives with different Retention Categories.
