. Select this setting to make Vault Cache for Outlook available in this Enterprise Vault site. If you clear this setting, no new Vault Caches are created. Users have access to existing Vault Caches, but Enterprise Vault adds no items to those caches.
Use these settings to specify how to limit the size of a Vault Cache. If a Vault Cache reaches the specified size, the oldest items are automatically deleted to make room for new items. The space is not allocated until it is needed.
. Select this setting and specify a percentage to limit the maximum size for a Vault Cache as a percentage of the unused disk space that is available when the Vault Cache is created.
. Select this setting and specify a value to limit the maximum size for a Vault Cache as a size in gigabytes. The maximum allowed value is 999 GB.
. Select an option from this menu to specify the strategy for storage of the content of archived items in Vault Cache. The options are as follows:
. Item headers are synchronized to Vault Cache, but the content of archived items is not stored in Vault Cache. If a user opens an item in Virtual Vault, or selects an item when the Reading Pane is open, Enterprise Vault immediately retrieves the content. With this option, the item's content is not stored in Vault Cache even after the content is retrieved.
. This option is the default. Item headers are synchronized to Vault Cache and the content of archived items is stored in Vault Cache.
. This option is similar to . Item headers are synchronized to Vault Cache, but the content of archived items is not automatically stored in Vault Cache. The difference is that with this option, the content of each item that a user opens in Virtual Vault is stored in Vault Cache.
Use these settings to control whether Vault Cache menu options and toolbar buttons are available on Outlook clients.
