The Vault Directory Database contains the configuration information for Enterprise Vault. The Vault Directory Database is created with an initial size of 10 megabytes. This database is not likely to increase much in size. The transaction log is created with an initial size of 25 megabytes. The transaction log gives the means to reconstruct the database if there is ever a problem with it.
You must monitor and manage both these databases using the normal SQL Server Enterprise Manager tools.
. Enter the path to the folder where you want to create the new Vault Directory Database. Click if you want to select from a list of available locations.
. Enter the path to the folder where you want to create the transaction log for the new Vault Directory Database. Click if you want to select from a list of available locations.

If you have specified that SQL Server is on a remote computer, the paths for the data file and the transaction log must be valid on that remote computer. |
When you have specified the locations, click to create the Vault Directory Database.
