The list shows the index volumes that are used by the archive you selected. The columns are as follows:
Right-click an index volume for the following options:
. Updates the index with any items that are still waiting to be indexed.
. Deletes the index volume and recreates it. You do not normally need to use this option and the rebuild may take some time.
. Retries indexing of failed items. This option is not available if no items have failed indexing.
. Sets the index volume into a state in which it cannot be searched or updated. This is useful when you are changing index locations.
. Sets the index volume into a state in which it can searched or updated.
. Copies the displayed information to the Windows clipboard.
. This option enables you to change the physical location of an archive's index volumes.
To change the location of an archive's index volumes
Right-click the list of index volumes and, on the shortcut menu, click Select All. Alternatively, you can select multiple index volumes as follows:
Right-click the selected index volumes and, on the shortcut menu, click Set Index Volume Offline. There is a warning that index volumes cannot be searched when they are offline. Click Yes. There is a confirmation that the operation has been queued. Click OK. The status of the index volume changes to Offline.
Click the Advanced tab of the archive's properties and make a note of the Archive ID. To copy the Archive ID to the Windows clipboard, double-click the ID to select it, then right-click it and, on the shortcut menu, click Copy.
Copy the existing index folder to the new location that you want to use. Copy the whole folder, without changing its name.
On the Index Volume Location dialog, select the index server that manages the new location and then select the location to which you copied the index folder. Click OK.
The index location is changed and all the index volumes are automatically set online.
