Problem: Items are not being restored.

This issue is most likely to be related to a problem with the Enterprise Vault Storage service.

Enterprise Vault queues requests to restore items. This alert indicates that there is a large backlog of items to restore. The backlog may impact your users. Users of Outlook Web Access cannot view archived items. Items are not being restored to mailboxes, leading to calls to your Help Desk from users.

Work through the following steps to fix the problem. You may not need to try all the steps.

  1. Check that the StorageRestore process is running on the Enterprise Vault Storage server that manages the Vault Store. If the process is not running, restart the Storage service.

  2. Check the Enterprise Vault event log for storage errors that could indicate why items are not being restored.

  3. Run the checks again to make sure that you have corrected the problem.
