Status: Remaining space in Directory database transaction log

Problem: The Directory database transaction log is running out of space.

This problem is most likely to be caused by a failed backup or the database configuration.

Work through the following steps to fix the problem. You may not need to try all the steps.

  1. Check that backup tasks are not failing. The transaction log file shrinks in size when you back it up.

  2. Review your SQL database backup procedures and make any changes needed to ensure that the Directory database transaction log is backed up regularly.

  3. Ensure that the space that is allocated to the database transaction log is sufficient for the number of transactions that occur between backups.

  4. Check that there is enough disk space available to accommodate the growth in your database and database transaction log files.

  5. When you have corrected the issue that caused the size warning, back up the Directory database transaction log.

  6. Run the checks again to make sure that you have corrected the problem.
