Overview of the upgrading process

This chapter describes how to upgrade your Enterprise Vault servers (that is, all servers that run the Enterprise Vault Directory service). If you are upgrading an Enterprise Vault 8.0 system that supports Domino mailbox archiving, this includes any Enterprise Vault Domino Gateway servers.

In summary, the upgrade procedure is as follows:

  1. Prepare to install the Enterprise Vault software:

  2. Install and configure the Enterprise Vault 9.0 server software as described in the appropriate chapter for your installation.

  3. Perform any of the extra configuration tasks that are relevant to your Enterprise Vault installation.

See About the extra configuration tasks.

  4. Upgrade any computers that are running just the Enterprise Vault Administration Console.

  5. Perform post-installation tasks as necessary:

    • Upgrade Enterprise Vault Reporting.

    • Upgrade Exchange Server forms.

    • Upgrade Domino mailbox archiving.

    • Upgrade the FSA Agent on all the Windows file servers on which it is installed.
