The Conflict Management page of the Computer Migration Wizard specifies how the Active Directory Migration Tool (ADMT) handles duplicate account names and security identifiers (SIDs) when you migrate accounts from the source domain to the target domain.

Note |
In the SID history, if the SID for an account that you want to migrate from the source domain matches a SID in the target domain, ADMT handles that account as you specify on the Conflict Management page. |
The Conflict Management page has the following options:
- Do not migrate source object if a conflict
is detected in the target domain
Select this option to leave the account in the target domain unchanged. This option does not migrate the duplicate account from the source domain.
- Migrate and merge conflicting
objects
Select this option to change the properties of existing accounts in the target domain to match the properties of the accounts with the same names in the source domain. If you click Migrate and merge conflicting objects, the following options are available:
- Before merging remove user rights for
existing target accounts
Select this option to verify that the account in the target domain does not have more user rights than the rights that are granted to the account with the same name in the source domain.
- Before merging remove members from
existing target group accounts
Select this option to verify that the members of the migrated groups in the target domain are the same as the members of the associated groups in the source domain.
- Move merged objects to the specified
target Organizational Unit
Select this option to overwrite the existing target user account with the user account from the source domain. This option moves the conflicting objects to the target organizational unit (OU) that you specified on the Organizational Unit Selection page.
- Before merging remove user rights for
existing target accounts
