The Group Member Transition Options page of the Group Account Migration Wizard specifies how the Active Directory Migration Tool (ADMT) handles migrated user accounts in the source and target domains. For example, you can use this tool to disable the migrated accounts in one or both of the domains.

The Group Member Transition Options has the following options:

Target Account State

  • Enable target accounts

Select this option to enable the newly created user account in the target domain. This option makes it possible for a user to log on to the target domain using the new account.

  • Disable target accounts

Select this option to disable the newly created user account in the target domain. This option prohibits anyone from using the target account to log on to the target domain. This option can affect migrated service accounts. Do not select this option to migrate accounts that services use.

  • Target same as source

Select this option to set the target account to the same state as the source account. This option matches the newly created account in the target domain to the state of the account that is copied from the source domain, whether it is enabled or disabled.

Source Account Disabling Options

  • Disable source accounts

Select this option to disable the original user account in the source domain. This option prohibits anyone from using the source domain account to log on to the source domain.

  • Days until source accounts expires

Select this option to set the number of days after which the source account is no longer enabled. This option prohibits anyone from using the source account to log on to the domain after the specified number of days.

Translate Roaming Profiles

  • Translate roaming profiles

Select this option to migrate roaming profiles from the copied accounts in the source domain to the newly created accounts in the target domain. This process copies the roaming profile to the target domain and associates the profile with the new user account.
