These advanced properties are available for HP
NC-Series Broadcom Multifunction Gigabit Server Adapters.
Property.
These adapter properties only display if
they are supported by the selected adapter.
Priority and
VLAN. Enables or disables the ability to insert or remove
the 802.1q tags for priority and VLAN.
Default = Priority and VLAN Enabled
Range = Priority and VLAN Disabled,
Priority Enabled, VLAN Enabled, Priority and VLAN Enabled
Jumbo
Packet. The size, in bytes, of the largest supported Jumbo
Packet (an Ethernet frame that is greater than 1514 bytes) that the
hardware can support.
Default = 1514 Bytes
Range = 1324 Bytes; 1514 Bytes; 4088 Bytes;
9014 Bytes
Flow
Control. Specifies the type of flow control that is
needed.
Default = Rx/Tx Enable

Rx/Tx Enable
Ethernet@WireSpeed. Enables linking at 100
Mbps when using a cable that does not support Gigabit Speed.
Default = Enabled

TCP Connection
Offload. Enables the offloading of TCP connections over
IPv4 or IPv6.
Default = Enabled
Range = Disabled; Enabled
TOE is disabled system wide by default in
the operating system. TOE must be enabled system-wide for it to
work on the adapter itself. To enable TOE in the operating system,
execute the "netsh int tcp set global chimney=enabled"
command.
TOE will not work with the following
features enabled: Windows Firewall; Internet Protocol security
(IPsec); Internet Protocol Network Address Translation (IPNAT);
third-party firewalls; and NDIS 5.1 intermediate drivers. Download

IPv6 TOE is currently supported on NC382x
and NC532x adapters. When TOE is enabled on an adapter, both IPv4
and IPv6 is enabled on the adapter if the adapter supports
IPv6.
Receive-Side
Scaling (RSS). Enables dynamic load balancing of incoming
traffic across CPUs.
Default = Enabled
Range = Disabled; Enabled
RSS is disabled system wide by default in
the operating system. RSS must be enabled system-wide for it to
work on the adapter itself. To enable RSS in the operating system,
execute the "netsh int tcp set global rss=enabled" command.
Optimized
Interrupt Moderation. When this configuration is set to
optimize, the driver automatically and continuously determines the
best Target DPC (deferred procedure call) Rate to use based on the
current network conditions. When this configuration is set to
manual, the user can select a Target DPC Rate and the driver
adjusts the adapter's interrupt setting to achieve that DPC rate.
Changing this setting may improve performance for some
configurations.

Target DPC
Rate. Determines the desired DPC rate. The driver adjusts
the adapter's interrupt moderation setting dynamically based on
network conditions to achieve the desired DPC rate. This
configuration is valid only when "Optimized Interrupt Moderation"
is set to manual.

IPv4 Checksum
Offload. Describes whether the device enabled or disabled
the calculation of IPv4 checksums.

TCP Checksum
Offload (IPv4). Describes whether the device enabled or
disabled the calculation of TCP Checksum over IPv4 packets.

Offload (IPv6). Describes whether the device enabled or
disabled the calculation of TCP checksum over IPv6 packets.

Offload (IPv4). Describes whether the device enabled or
disabled the calculation of UDP checksum over IPv4 packets.

Offload (IPv6). Describes whether the device enabled or
disabled the calculation of UDP checksum over IPv6 packets.

TCP/UDP/IP
Checksum Offload (IPv4). Describes whether the device
enabled or disabled the calculation of TCP, UDP, or IP checksum
over IPv4 packets. If this TCP/UDP/IP Checksum Offload (IPv4)
property is present, it overrides and disables the TCP Checksum
Offload (IPv4), UDP Checksum Offload (IPv4), and IPv4 Checksum
Offload properties.

TCP/UDP
Checksum Offload (IPv6). Describes whether the device
enabled or disabled the calculation of TCP or UDP checksum over
IPv6 packets. This property overrides the TCP Checksum Offload
(IPv6) and UDP Checksum Offload (IPv6) properties. If TCP/UDP
Checksum Offload (IPv6) is present, TCP Checksum Offload (IPv6) and
UDP Checksum Offload (IPv6) properties are disabled.

Large Send
Offload Version 1 (IPv4). Describes whether the device
enabled or disabled the segmentation of large TCP packets over IPv4
for large send offload version 1 (LSOv1).

Offload Version 2 (IPv4). Describes whether the device
enabled or disabled the segmentation of large TCP packets over IPv4
for large send offload version 2 (LSOv2).

Offload Version 2 (IPv6). Describes whether the device
enabled or disabled the segmentation of large TCP packets over IPv6
for large send offload version 2 (LSOv2).

Transmit
Buffers. The size, in bytes, of the transmit buffers that
the hardware can support. This size is hardware-dependent and can
include data buffers, buffer descriptors, and so forth.
