The Specify References panel of the Create New Entity Schema lets you create a reference for the new entity with an entity of the predefined platform. A parent-child relation is created between the entity of the predefined platform and the new entity that you are creating. You can associate the primary fields of the new entity with the primary fields of the parent entity to create a parent-child relationship. Data is collected for both the parent and the child fields.
In the panel, you can view the new entity that you are creating and its primary fields. You must select each and every field of the new entity and associate the field with a corresponding field of the parent entity. You can use the Add button to add the fields to create the parent-child relationship.
The fields of the panel and their descriptions are as follows:
If you have extended an entity of a predefined platform through the Specify Entity Details panel, then you must ensure the following:
Create a reference with the same entity of the predefined platform that you have extended.
Create one to one relation between fields of the creating entity and the fields of the predefined entity.
Few predefined entities have relation with other predefined entities. You can create a parent-child relationship with fields of other predefined entities that are related to the extended predefined entity.
For example, if the extended predefined entity is Oracle, then it has relation with predefined entities such as UNIX and Windows. You can also create a parent-child relationship with the fields of the UNIX and Windows predefined entities.
You can also create parent-child relationship between the custom entities.
