Create New Entity Schema: Specify Entity Details

The Specify Entity Details panel of the Create New Entity Schema wizard lets you create a new entity. You can create an entity based on the asset type that you want to create. For example, if you want to create an asset of all the servers of the DB2 application, then you can create an entity called Server. You can also extend an entity of a predefined platform.

The fields of the Specify Entity Details panel and their descriptions are as follows:

Name

Enter the name of the new entity.

This name appears as the header information in the CSV file.

Display name

Enter the display name of the created entity.

The display name of the entity appears in the evaluation report that is generated for the collected data of the asset.

Description

Enter the description of the new entity.

Extend an existing entity

Select the option if you want to extend an existing entity of a predefined platform.

The fields of this option are as follows:

  • Platform

    Select the predefined platform of Control Compliance Suite.

  • Entity

    Select the predefined entity that is to be extended for the selected platform.

Folder path

Browse to the folder path where you want to create the schema (XML) files.

There are three schema files, such as platform schema, common platform schema, and entity schema that are created for the new entity.
