The Create Common Asset Field Filters panel lets you create a filter that is based on the values of the fields that are common across all the asset types. The panel presents you a list of common asset fields. You can specify the values for the selected fields. The asset group is formed based on the values that you specify in this panel.
You can use start mark (*) as the wild card when you enter the values in the fields.
Consider the following example:
You want to create a dynamic asset group based on the Location field.
You want to create an asset group of the assets for which the location starts with abc.
You can use the asterix mark (*) and specify the following value in the Location field:
abc*. With abc*, an asset group is created of all the assets for which the locations tarts with abc irrespective of what the following characters in the name are.
You can use the semi colon (;) to specify multiple values for a field. If you specify multiple values, the value expression is formed with an OR.
Consider the following example:
You want to specify the values hr, finance,administration for the Department field.
You want to create a dynamic asset group of the assets based on the Department.
You want to include the assets that belong to either hr or finance or administration.
