HP Operations Manager for Windows

Synchronization of Incident Updates

When configured to do so, NNMi forwards incidents to one or more HPOM servers. NNMi will acknowledge an incident to one or more HPOM installations if that incident's lifecycle state changes to closed. NNMi will unacknowledge an incident to one or more HPOM installations if that incident's lifecycle state changes from closed.

Updates to these forwarded incidents are sent from the HPOM management server back to the NNMi management server to synchronize the lifecycle state of the incident.

Incident lifecycle state changes are synchronized from NNMi to HPOM and back to NNMi as follows:

Trigger Result
NNMi incident is closed. HPOM message is acknowledged by NNMi.
NNMi incident's lifecycle state is changed from closed to any other state. HPOM incidents are unacknowledged by NNMi.
NNMi incident is acknowledged in HPOM. NNMi incidentÂ’s lifecycle state is synchronized to closed, and the original incident is closed automatically in NNMi.
Original incident is closed in NNMi first. HPOM automatically acknowledges the incident.
Forwarded incident is not acknowledged in HPOM (this assumes the NNMi user does not modify the lifecycle state). NNMi incidentÂ’s lifecycle state is synchronized to registered.
