High priority messages and actions
Message storms are exceptional situations which can lead to
disruption in your environment. It is important that the
notification message generated by the message storm detection
mechanism be sent immediately to the management consoles and that
the automatic action assigned to it be executed without any delay.
The management server achieves this by using high priority
messages, which have the following characteristics:
- They are generated and sent directly by the management server,
without involving the agent.
- They are not placed into the message queue but are sent
immediately.
- Automatic actions assigned to high priority messages are
treated as emergency actions and are executed immediately without
involving the agent. Consequently, the agent on the management
server does not have to run to handle high priority messages and
actions.
- High priority messages cannot be created by policies.
NOTE:
High priority messages do not automatically have Critical severity.
Their severity can be defined by using the values "Severity of the
message storm begin message" and "Severity of the message storm end
message".
