Use the Partition Values dialog box to:
Set the unit of measure for partitioning
Set the format type for each partition
Set the size for each partition
Following is a description of each of the features in this dialog box.
Select the desired option.

Description |
Percent |
Partitions the disk in the percentages that you specify. |
MB |
Partitions the disk in the MB sizes that you specify |
Lists each partition number based on the number you selected in the Partition Properties dialog box.
Double-click the cells for each partition and make the desired settings. The value is dependent upon the Percent or MB option that you selected.
If you are installing Windows NT with Ramdisk DOS7.X or Ramdisk DOS8.0 or Windows 2000 with Ramdisk DOS7.X or Ramdisk DOS8.0, you can set the FAT16 partition size to 4000MB. If the designated size exceeds the 4000MB limitation, CCM automatically reduces the partition size to 4GB to support NT installation on the computer.
If you select the Percent option, CCM presets the individual partitions with equal sizes equaling 100%. You may change these values as desired. If several partitions of equal size are submitted, the actual sizes formatted may be different because of internal cylinder alignments. If the full disk space has not been allocated, CCM asks you to automatically extend the last partition to cover the remaining space upon saving the partition information.
If you select the MB option, no preset values are entered by CCM. You can select sizes that are compatible with the partition format type you chose.
Whether setting the size of the last partition on the disk by Percent or MB, you can choose the Rest option which assigns the remaining available disk space.
The last item in the Size column is the total allocated disk space.
Double-click the cells for each partition and select the formatting type.

Description |
FAT 16 |
Typical partitions with FAT 16 formatting type must be less than 2GB in size. If you are installing Windows NT with Ramdisk DOS7.X or Ramdisk DOS8.0 or Windows 2000 with Ramdisk DOS7.X or Ramdisk DOS8.0, you can set the FAT16 partition size to 4000MB. CCM will correctly format the partition based on 64KB clusters rather than the 32KB-cluster 2GB limit normally used for FAT 16 partitioning NOTE: CCM FAT 16 partitioning does not remove the Compaq Diagnostic Partition (CDP) installed by the SP8126 SoftPaq. CCM reduces the size of the First primary partition of the first hard drive by approximately 8 MB to accommodate the size of the CDP. |
FAT 32 |
FAT 32 formatting type can only be used with Windows 95 OSR2 or Windows 98. it is incompatible with Windows NT or Windows 95 Build 950. |
