On a new CCM server, you must have an administrator role of Site Administrator to start the Command Center for the first time. Subsequently, any CCM administrator with an account on a CCM configuration server can start the Command Center.
To start the Command Center for the first time, use Start > Programs > CCM Administration > CCM Command Center.
You can restart from an .msc file, the Windows Program menu, or within MMC.
You can display multiple Command Center windows and navigate in and between them.
If you must leave the CCM Command Center unattended, you can lock it. How to..
While the Command Center is locked, you have access to the Windows desktop, and can use other applications.
When you close the Command Center, you can save a snapshot of its current state. All the servers that you previously added to the Command Center together with their computer, computer group, package profile, and administrator information are saved.
Use Console > Save to save the file named Command Center.msc, or use Save As to specify a different name and create a new instance of the Command Center.
TIP: Make managing your computers easier by saving different instances of the Command Center for different purposes. For example, one instance could focus on package dependencies, and another on particular computer groups or servers.
NOTE: If servers have active CCM Activities, you must deal with those activities before you exit Command Center.
WARNING: If you are working in a secondary CCM Command Center window, do not, by accident, close the primary CCM Command Center window. When you close the secondary window, you will be prompted to save it as an .msc file. If you save the secondary window as an .msc file, all of your Command Center settings will be lost and you will have to recreate your server list and all of the console settings.
