You can use a CCM boot diskette for test purposes or for a managed computer that does not have a NIC with a CCM compatible boot PROM.
To create a CCM boot diskette, do the following:
Log on to the CCM Configuration Server as the smeclnt or iadm user.
Open the ccm\config\bootdisk5 directory and double-click tc1832.exe to install Tcl/Tk Version 8.3. This is the interpreter that is required by the CCM bootdisk.tcl code.
In the same directory, double-click bootdisk.tcl to launch the ON Command CCM Boot Disk and Network Adapter Maintenance utility.
Follow the instructions provided in the index.html file located in the ccm\config\bootdisk5\doc directory.
To use a CCM boot diskette, insert it in the computer's floppy drive before you integrate the computer into CCM. Leave it in the drive during the entire procedure of installing the operating system or for running other pre-OS jobs on the computer.
After the operating system has been installed, you can leave the boot diskette in the drive if you want to reinstall or modify the operating system at a later time.
