Getting Started

Select this to display the Getting Started with Backup Exec page, which provides a series of steps that you can follow to configure features of Backup Exec, including logon accounts, devices, and media sets. You can also access the Backup Exec Assistant.

Backup Exec Assistant

Select this to display the Backup Exec Assistant, which has links to documentation, technical support assistance, and additional wizards. You can also set defaults and preferences, configure alerts and device pools, and install remote agents and media servers.

Select this to display the Help topics for Backup Exec for Windows Servers.

Symantec on the Web

Select this to display the following menu items:

  • Online Support. Launch your Web browser and attach to the Symantec Technical Support Web site to find product update information, download drivers, and access the Knowledge Base.

  • Search Knowledge Base. Launch your Web browser and attach to the Symantec Knowledge Base.

  • Latest Backup Exec Device Drivers. Launch your Web browser and access the device driver installation download Web page on the Symantec Technical Support Web site.

  • Open or View Support Case. Launch your Web browser and attach to DirectAssist, which is a support tool that allows you to open and track support cases, and communicate with Symantec Technical Support via the Internet. You can also use the tool to diagnose and resolve issues.

  • Education Services. Launch your Web browser and attach to the Symantec eLearning Web site to access Web-based training courses for Symantec products.

  • Backup Exec Training. Launch your Web browser and attach to the Backup Exec Education site for free training modules.

  • Backup Exec Page. Launch the Backup Exec for Windows Servers product information Web site, which includes links to white papers, education information, and other Symantec products.

  • Home Page. Launch the Symantec.com Web site.

ReadMe File

Select this to display the ReadMe file for Backup Exec.

Adobe Acrobat Web Site

  • Launch your Web browser and attach to the Adobe Reader Web site.

Administrator's Guide

Select this to display the Administrator's Guide online with the Adobe Acrobat Reader. If the Adobe Acrobat Reader is not installed, Backup Exec displays another link to the Adobe Web site so you can download the Adobe Acrobat Reader.

Administrator's Guide Addendum

Select this to view the Administrator's Guide Addendum online with the Adobe Acrobat Reader. If the Adobe Acrobat Reader is not installed, Backup Exec displays another link to the Adobe Web site so you can download the Adobe Acrobat Reader.

License Agreement

Select this to display the Backup Exec license agreement.
