When the Agent for Microsoft Virtual Servers is installed on a Microsoft virtual server, a Microsoft Virtual Server container appears on the administration console's Selection pane.

When you expand the Microsoft Virtual Server container, the following folders appear:

If you select the Microsoft Virtual Server container for backup, the backup job includes the application configuration settings and all virtual machines.

If you select Initial Store for backup, the backup job includes a single XML file that contains the Hyper-V authorization configuration.

If you select Virtual Server Configuration for backup, the backup job includes only the VNC and XML configuration files.

When you select an individual virtual machine, the files that are on that virtual machine appear in the results pane. However, you cannot select individual files to include in or exclude from the backup.
