Initialize-BEUnconfiguredDiskCartridgeDevice Cmdlet
Synopsis

Configures an unconfigured disk cartridge device so that it can be used with Backup Exec.

Syntax
Initialize-BEUnconfiguredDiskCartridgeDevice -InputObject [<BEDiskCartridgeDevice[]>] [-Confirm [<SwitchParameter>]] [-WhatIf [<SwitchParameter>]] [<CommonParameters>]
Description

Configures an unconfigured disk cartridge device so that it can be used with Backup Exec.

Use this command with Get-BEDiskCartridgeDevice and -Unconfigured to get the unconfigured disk cartridge devices.

You can use this command to configure unconfigured local disk storage devices that do not have drive letters associated with them. To configure local disk storage devices that have drive letters associated with them, use New-BEDiskCartridgeDevice.

Parameters

-InputObject <BEDiskCartridgeDevice[]>

Specifies one or more disk cartridge device objects. Enter a variable that contains the objects, or type a command or expression that gets the objects.

BackupExec.Management.CLI.BEDiskCartridgeDevice

Initialize-BEUnconfiguredDiskCartridgeDevice outputs a BEDiskCartridgeDevice object.

Example
C:\PS> Get-BEDiskCartridgeDevice -Unconfigured | Select-Object -First 1 | Initialize-BEUnconfiguredDiskCartridgeDevice

These commands configure the first unconfigured disk cartridge device returned from Get-BEDiskCartridgeDevice.
